There are some events which are so powerful that every detail becomes etched into the minds of the people who have experienced it. One of such events was an attack on WTC-World Trade Centre in 2001.
Around 19 highly trained men by Al-Qaeda carried out a terrorist attack on WTC in the United States. They hijacked four passenger aeroplanes to crashed them into WTC. While three of the four flights hit the target, one flight crashed in Pennsylvania. On 11th September 2011, the whole world witnessed the death of more than 3,000 people from 57 countries.
The terrifying news spread all over the worlds like winds. The four planes were American Airlines Flight 11, American Airlines Flight 77, United Airlines Flight 93 and United Airlines Flight 175. Initially, on one knew the demands of the hijackers but soon it was revealed with a devastating incident.
About the incident in detail
It was around 8:45 AM when then American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Center’s north tower. The impact was so powerful that it created a massive explosion and entirely weakened the WTC building. The building collapsed in just two hours, taking the lives of people who were inside the building.
Within just one hour, the terrorist had attacked again. This time they targeted the Pentagon. Around 9:43 AM, American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into it.
No one was sure about where the United Airlines Flight 93 was heading. As per the report, some of the passengers had tried to fight back. But it was crashed in Pennsylvania, killing all the passengers. The bravery action of them helped to prevent more destruction.
Before the crash
All were normal in the World Trade Center, and all were busy in their work. More than 3500 staffs were there in the building. Some were busy in a meeting. The crash was so sudden that they don’t get enough time to vacate the building. Those who were on the ground level, they managed to leave the building but suffered from injuries.
After the crash
People who were near the sites rushed to help people and brought then outside of the building safely. Rescue works continued for several days to find any survivor. The whole country came together to help people and rebuild the nation.
The US government passed an amendment on 18th December 2001 to memorialize the day as Patriot Day. This is the day that no one will forget.
