Final Chances of Kathy Barnette Facing Mehmet Oz in the Pennsylvania

Famous Heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz is still the top choice to be the winner of the Pennsylvania Senate Republican Primary despite a massive rise in his rival Kathy Barnette.

In the lead-up to Tuesday’s vote, the Donald Trump-endorsed Oz is the most popular candidate in polls and among book publishers as well, with the former hedge fund chief David McCormick falling behind Barnette in third place. Trump stated on that on Monday that he was not convinced that Barnette would be able to win the general election, despite being backed by “Radical left Democrats.”

Oz’s chances of winning increased by a significant amount compared to the odds offered on May 12, 2014, Thursday in the opinion of Betfair. The bookmaker has named Oz as the favourite of 2/9 to be the winner of the GOP Senate runoff in Pennsylvania after being 8/11 last week.

Betfair Exchange spokesperson Sam Rosbottom spoke to Newsweek. They believe Oz’s odds have “massively improved in the last few days” despite the rout from Barnette. The most recent odds indicate the Oz has a close 82 percent chance of winning in the primary, up from the 58 percent mark the week before.

Comparatively, Barnette remains the closest opponent and has odds of 6/4 to take the title on Tuesday, a slight increase from 7/4. McCormick is getting the “much lower possibility” at 13/2, having previously been at 4/1, Rosbottom explained.

Barnette, who went from being a complete unknown to a possible Senate candidate making headlines across the nation within a matter of weeks, has shown an impressive improvement in polls despite the numerous controversies concerning her.

Barnette is identified as having been found to have made numerous Islamaphobic, homophobic, Islamaphobic and conspiracy theorist remarks online in response to questions regarding her previous job as a military officer.

She has also often promoted the false notion in the past that 2020’s presidential elections were rigged to favour Trump with pictures and images recently surfacing that show her walking alongside the members of the extreme-right The Proud Boys group in protests before the Capitol incident on January 6 2021.

Barnette admitted that she was there at the “Stop the Swindle” protests in Washington, D.C. Still, she denied in a statement the woman “participated in or participated in desecration of buildings” that took place during the rally. There is no evidence that Barnette was a member of the crowd made up of Trump supporters who proceeded to take over the Capitol.

The Susquehanna Polling and Research survey conducted between May 12 and 15 revealed that the fight between Oz and Barnette could be even tenser. If asked whether it was the case that the Republican primaries for this year’s Pennsylvania Senate election took place “today,” 28 percent indicated they would vote for Oz, while Barnette just behind with 27 percent.

Fox News poll released on May 10 ranked Barnette in third place with 19 percent, just behind McCormick with 20 percent and Oz leading with 22 percent. The poll also revealed that the popularity of Barnette had almost doubled in March when she only had 9 percent.
