Euphoria Season 2 Trailer: Zendaya Deals With Love, Loss and Addiction

Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and the rest of the cast return to drama in this HBO series.

Zendaya’s Rue appears to be in more trouble than she was before in the trailer for season 2 of Euphoria.

The two-and-a-half-minute video begins with Rue being seen entering the Narcotics Anonymous meeting with luggage that she appears to be carrying throughout the day. Her patron, Colman Domingo’s Ali, whom viewers came to know in Rue’s Christmas special in January 2020, is in the front row.

“When I first saw the girl, I instantly completely in love with her,” Rue says, in front of images of Hunter Schafer’s Jules and her girlfriend from the first season and Rue’s addiction to another. “As the moment I met Jules, I felt immediately scared of losing her.”

The trailer continues to reveal that the level of drama Euphoria is famous for won’t disappear in the near future and will continue to be a major factor in Rue meeting a new partner to provide her with drugs and a relationship with; Rue possibly becoming a drug dealer for herself and a relationship developing with Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie as well as Jacob Elordi’s Nate and further fights with Rue and her mother (Nika King).

Euphoria Season 2’s official description reads “Amidst the intertwining lives of East Highland, a town in East Highland, 17-year-old Rue is trying to find hope while balancing the demands of loss, love, as well as addiction.”

Levinson got inspiration from his own experiences to create the characters on the hit HBO show. “I am just feeling like there’s a gap between what people of the ages of 18 and 19 are going through and what believe they’re experiencing,” he previously stated to The Hollywood Reporter of the source of inspiration for the show. “We were not looking to make any apologies. We wanted to avoid making the impression that we were putting anything off or that we were not telling the truth about something.”

Alongside Zendaya, Schafer, King, Elordi, and Sweeney, HBO confirms there are a lot of other regulars in the series in this season’s lineup: Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Algee Smith, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid, and Austin Abrams.
